1st Annual Durham Community Foundation Philanthropy Day a Success!
2013 Philanthropy Day in Review – #DCFDay
Durham Community Foundation first annual Philanthropy Day was held November 12, 2013.
The sold-out event brought inspirational and educational opportunities to local charities, thanks to the generosity of volunteer speakers and panelists.
In recognition of the speakers waiving their fees and in the spirit of philanthropy, a $1,000 gift was announced to Epilepsy Durham for their “Stand By Me – A Photo Essay” project. This funding will help support a photo exhibit of individuals with Epilepsy and local celebrities to raise awareness of the need to improve the treatment and care of the 36,000 people living with epilepsy in Durham Region.
