Durham Community Foundation awards $2,230,000 to local charities

Since launching in May 2020, our Foundation responded to 400 calls from local charities, reviewed 198 applications and awarded funds to 140 registered charities providing support to children, youth, seniors, as well as special care and supports to our most vulnerable population

An additional $376,925 also through the Government of Canada supported social purpose organizations innovate, adjust and thrive to new realities during COVID.

Our endowment funds helped to bring our annual giving total to well over $2,230,000 this year.

We are grateful for the work these charities do to ensure our community remains strong and resilient during these unprecedented times.
