On Sunday October 22, 2023 more than a dozen charities walked together to raise funds for their respective charities including: Autism Home Base Durham, Bethesda House, Big Brothers Big Sisters of South-West Durham and Northumberland, Community Justice Alternatives of Durham Region, Durham Down Syndrome Association, Durham Alliance Outreach, Durham Deaf Services, Epilepsy Durham Region, Girls Inc of Durham, Scientists in School, Victim Services of Durham Region and Whitby Historical Society.

On Wednesday, November 22nd, 2023 Durham Community Foundation (DCF) held its annual Philanthropy Forum. Nonprofits from across Durham Region tuned in as host Darryl Swain of Excel Fundraising Inc. led four incredible guest speakers through an insightful day of learnings.

On Tuesday, November 28th, 2023 Durham Community Foundation championed #DurhamGivesBack with the support of the Region of Durham and local municipalities many of whom raised the GivingTuesday flag in recognition of this day of giving back to the community by donating to a local food bank or shelter, committing to volunteering time and expertise to a local organization or giving financially to a local charity that has made a difference in one’s life or the life of a loved one.
